2008 Updates

2 Sept 2008

Congratulations to the Patriot Cup Champions and Finalists.  We saw a lot of great soccer during the tournament, and hopefully it was a good warm-up for all the teams. Complete tournament results are posted in the link to the left.

Many thanks to the tournament sponsors: Hard Times Chili Cafe (Fairfax City), Tamir Linhart’s Golden Boot Soccer, and DC United. We had a great time at the social Saturday evening, and appreciate Golden Boot and Hard Times underwriting the social.

Please send any comments on the tournament or suggestions for improvement to travel.tournament@fpycsoccer.org. We look forward to hearing from you, and hope to see you again at next year’s Patriot Cup.

All tournament players must have a player card, and it must be signed by the club registrar and the player. Guest players (recreational or travel) should get player cards from their club’s registrar. Guest players from recreational (house) leagues do not need pictures on their player cards.

Each team representative should bring the original team roster for the fall season and two copies of the tournament roster. The tournament roster is a copy of the fall season roster with players that are not participating lined out and guest players added by hand. The club registrar signs the tournament roster after all changes are made, verifying that all players are eligible for the tournament.  (Note: Do not mark on your original fall season team roster.)

All coaches, team managers, and club representatives are invited to the Patriot Cup Social at the new Hard Times Cafe in Fairfax City at 7 PM on Saturday (8/30), which will include their special chili-dog bar.   Please send an email to travel.tournament@fpycsoccer.org if you plan to attend so we can plan for plenty of food.
