Don’t forget to check out the DC United Family 4-Pack offer, which is still good for August 2, August 23rd, and August 30th.

Many thanks to the other tournament sponsors including: Soccer Pro Shop in FFX City, Golden Boot Soccer, and the GMU summer soccer camps.

17 June

Many thanks to the all the participants in this year’s Father’s Day All-Star Touranment.  Over 480 teams, 7000 players, 900 coaches, and 200 referees participated in the games, making this one of the largest All-Star tournaments ever.

Please send any suggestions to house.tournament@fpycsoccer.org. We will not be able to respond to every suggestion, but will consider each one for next year’s tournament.

We will post tournament results by this weekend.

Lost and Found items will be held for two weeks, then donated to a charity.

Please email any pre-ordered merchandise questions to house.tournament@fpycsoccer.org.

Any teams that did not pickup their tournament dog-tags, and any U8 teams that did not pick up their free t-shirts can also send an email to house.tournament@fpycsoccer.org.

Don’t forget to checkout DC United’s special summer ticket offers (link on the left).

15 June, 8:30 AM

Most fields are open and most sites have started games.  All teams should go to their games as scheduled.

Lake Braddock U9B morning games are delayed by one hour (60 minutes), but afternoon games will be played as scheduled.

Hutchison Park teams (U13G and U14G) are playing a modified schedule but all teams should arrive for their scheduled game time.

15 June, 5:30 AM

The weather cleared quickly at most sites yesterday afternoon, and many sites were able to resume play so that only a small number of games were cancelled (including the Coaches game).

Sunday’s games will be played as scheduled.  We can not check the field conditions and post any field closures before teams depart for early morning games, so all teams with 8:00 and 9:15 should assume their fields are open and be ready to play as scheduled. We will post any field closures to the website as soon as possible, but don’t expect many.

Unfortunately we are unable to adquately coordinate schedule changes with teams and referees in time to make up cancelled games. Site Managers are working through the impacts on their groups, and will have details by mid-morning. In most cases yesterday afternoons game results for a group will not be used to determine standings if any games in that group were not completed. Therefore some groups will only have results from two games to determine which teams advance to Championship games. We will follow the tournament rules in breaking any ties.

14 June, 6:30 PM

The Coaches Game is at 7:30 tonight at FFX HS. We will raffle off several tournament game balls and a DC United autographed ball after the game.

Sunday’s games will be played as scheduled.  Any games cancelled by weather today will not be made up. We will follow tournament rules to break ties after preliminary games and determine which teams will go the championships tomorrow afternoon.

Teams can pick up any pre-ordered merchandise at their field tomorrow.

Any field closures for Sunday morning will be announced on the tournament website as soon as possible.

10 June 2008 (5 PM)

This year each All-Star team must complete team registration at the
FPYC Clubhouse prior to the tournament, instead of registering at
their tournament site on Saturday. Tuesday’s registration (7 PM to 8:30 PM) is for girls teams, Wednesday evening's registration is for boys teams, and Thursday is a make-up night for all teams. Teams with scheduling conflicts may attend a different registration if they send an email to house.tournament@fpycsoccer.org first.

All team documents must be completed to register a team, including:
- Team roster signed by club registrar (2 copies),
- Player cards signed by club registrar and player, and
- Medical release forms signed by guardian of each player.
Tournament staff will compare these documents to ensure they match and are complete, then will mark and return one roster while marking and keeping the 2nd copy of the roster.  Teams must have the marked roster, player cards and medical treatment form at all games.

Teams should not go to Tuesday’s registration if they were unable to complete all of documents. They should complete the documents, including all signatures, then attend the make-up registration on Thursday.

The only exception is that teams can register without player numbers on their rosters, but they must provide a copy of the roster with player numbers (in ink) before their first game on Saturday. Player numbers do not have to be typed on the rosters and may be hand written on team rosters in ink.

9 June 2008

Player numbers can be hand written on team rosters in ink (not pencil).  Player numbers are not required on alternate jerseys.

Teams can regsiter without player numbers on their rosters, but must provide a copy of the roster with player numbers (in ink) before their first game on Saturday.

General schedule notes:

   * All schedules changes are in bold blue underlined font on the schedules.
   * Letters in group identifiction do NOT indicate the group’s competitive level. For example DA is not the necessarily the strongest group, while DD is not necessarily the weakest.
   * U14G teams are at three locations: Poplar Tree Park, South Run, and Hutchison Park.
   * U13G teams are at two locations: Hutchison Park and Lake Fairfax Park.
   * “C-” indicates a Championship: for example “C-CA” is the Championship for group CA

The following schedules were corrected:

   * U8G
   * U9G
   * U10G
   * U11G
   * U13B
   * U14G
   * U16B
   * U19B

Pat Rodio Park is adjacent to Kieth Ave Park in Fairfax City.

Tournament officials may change game formats to incude water breaks if the weather is very hot during the tournament. Coaches should remind players to drink plenty of water several hours before a game.

Pre-ordered merchandise will not be available at Tuesday’s registration. Teams that register on Tuesday can pick up their pre-ordered merchandise on Thursday evening, or at their game field on Saturday.
